West Coast Sauna
NOW OPEN! New for Fall 2025!
Immerse yourself in our cedar barrel sauna, surrounded by old-growth spruce, cedar, and hemlocks, with a view of the peaceful waters of Spring Cove.
When the heat becomes too much, try a refreshing rinse in the cedar outdoor shower – it’s sure to rejuvenate your spirit!
Our West Coast Spa is just a quick 30-second walk along the foreshore trail on our property.

Wild Pacific Trail
The recent addition of the Spring Cove Interpretive Trail runs through our property at the foreshore and can be accessed just steps from your cabin. It quickly links to the world-famous Wild Pacific Trail and the main section of the lighthouse loop, where guests can enjoy the most scenic coastal views in the area.
You can explore alone or contact us so we can guide your adventure planning and share local knowledge. Hiking and nature eco tours are also available upon request.
In winter, waves tend to be higher, making storm watching from the many safe viewpoints on the trail an exciting experience.
Or, you can stay warm and cozy at South Swell Cabins and watch the wildlife in the more peaceful Spring Cove from your living room windows!
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
If you're the adventurous type with the right equipment, you can launch your kayak or paddleboard directly from our launch site at mid to high-tide levels. During lower tides, access is a quick 2-minute walk across the street to Terrace Beach.
For all guests who want to enjoy ocean activities but lack the gear or experience, we can arrange memorable adventures through local outfitting services. Please get in touch with us, and we'll ensure your days are filled with beautiful moments on the water.
Surfing & Beach Exploring
Pacific Rim National Park is about a 15-minute drive from South Swell Cabins and features some of the most stunning beaches and surf spots for all skill levels. Whether you're an experienced surfer or trying it for the first time, there’s a wave for you on our west coast shores.
Ucluelet offers everything from lessons to equipment and board rentals.

Endless Bike Paths
The newly completed 40km bi-directional bike path that stretches from Ucluelet to the beaches of the Pacific Rim National Park, and continues north to Tofino, can only be described as an incredible experience for all travellers and locals alike. Conventional bike and e-bike friendly.
Additionally, all local beaches and most viewpoints are accessible via bike path within Ucluelet, making it a fantastic way to get around town during your stay at South Swell Cabins.

Fishing Charters
Our open blue Pacific waters offer world-class ocean fishing- targeting salmon, halibut and lingcod.
Reach out to us, and we can help arrange your fishing adventure with professional local guides. The tours depart directly from the Ucluelet marina, and local processing services are available and highly efficient for packing your catch.
